Can anyone join a class? Yes, classes are open to everyone. Whether you’re new to yoga or have practiced before. We love teaching beginners and more experienced students. The most important thing is to work with your own body. We only ask if you have a medical condition that you ask your Dr. for advice before joining a class.
What do I need ? A yoga mat, blocks and a strap – you can borrow all of these for your first class and then optionally purchase from YogaEnergy. We have great studio quality equipment that will last and support your movement with good grip and durability. Wear comfy clothes – leggings, well-fitted jogging trousers or shorts. Bring water to refresh.
Do I need to have done yoga before? We welcome beginners or students with some experience. It takes a few classes to understand the basic postures and language. Then it gets more familiar and comfortable. You can trial a class or two and decide if you enjoy the practice. If you’re not sure, contact YogaEnergy to ask a question and join a class in Abingdon and Oxford.
What kind of yoga do you teach? Andrea teaches Vinyassa Flow Yoga with an Iyengar twist – we move through postures to develop awareness of our bodies and our breathing. I have classes which are suitable for pregnant and postnatal / post birth classes. I also have a gentle yoga class for people who would like a slower and softer style of class.
How much do you charge? Regular weekly classes range from £11.00 per class depending on location and group size. If you’d like a private or small group class, prices vary depending on the size of class, please contact YogaEnergy
Can I bring a friend or family member? Yes, the more the merrier – please contact YogaEnergy to check availability of spaces.
Is yoga only for women? All genders are welcome including all identifications – everyone benefits from yoga. Young and elderly. We also welcome children over 14 years, accompanied by an adult. Teenagers please come along – it’s great for exam time, end of term. Andrea is Enhanced DBS checked to teach children and young adults.
I over 60 years, can I practice yoga? Yes! There is no age limit youthful or mature. There is a gentle yoga class for mature students who may find some postures challenging.
I am pregnant, can I join a class? Yes, Andrea is qualified to teach pregnancy and postnatal yoga in her regular classes. There is a pregnancy and postnatal specialist yoga class in Abingdon on Mondays at 17:00 at All Saints Hall.
Do you do private 1:1 classes? Yes, if there is availability on the schedule in Abingdon and Oxfordshire. Send an email to find out more.
