Frequently asked questions

These are prepared for face-to-face classes in Abingdon and Oxford, if you have any questions about virtual yoga, please email yoga.energise@gmail.com

Can anyone join a class? Yes, classes are open to everyone. Whether you’re new to yoga or have practiced before. We love teaching beginners and more experienced students. The most important thing is to work with your own body. We only ask if you have a medical condition that you ask your Dr. for advice before joining a class.

What do I need ? A yoga mat, blocks and a strap – you can borrow all of these for your first class and then optionally purchase from YogaEnergy. We have great studio quality equipment that will last and support your movement with good grip and durability. Wear comfy clothes – leggings, well-fitted jogging trousers or shorts. Bring water to refresh.

Do I need to have done yoga before? We welcome beginners or students with some experience. It takes a few classes to understand the basic postures and language. Then it gets more familiar and comfortable. You can trial a class or two and decide if you enjoy the practice. If you’re not sure, contact YogaEnergy to ask a question and join a class in Abingdon and Oxford.

What kind of yoga do you teach? Andrea teaches Vinyassa Flow Yoga with an iyengar twist – we move through postures to develop awareness of our bodies and our breathing. I have classes which are suitable for pregnant and post natal / post birth classes. I also have a gentle yoga class.

How much do you charge? Regular weekly classes range from £11.00 per class depending on location and group size. If you’d like a private or small group class, prices vary depending on the size of class, please contact YogaEnergy

Can I bring a friend or family member? Yes, the more the merrier – please contact YogaEnergy to check availability of spaces.

Is yoga only for women?  All genders are welcome including all identifications – everyone benefits from yoga. Young and elderly. We also welcome children over 14 years, accompanied by an adult. Teenagers please come along – it’s great for exam time, end of term…

I over 60 years, can I practice yoga? Yes! There is no age limit youthful or mature. I have a gentle yoga class for mature students who may find some postures challenging.

I am pregnant, can I join a class? Yes, Andrea is qualified to teach pregnancy yoga, please contact YogaEnergy to find out more and check space in the class. I have a pregnancy yoga class also.
